As of this writing, he is 74 years old and gets more done in a day than anyone I know. He has been a pediatrician for over 45 years and still works full time. He plays the piano for his church every Sunday and any other occasion he is asked to do so. He and my mother are involved in several ministries in their church, their community, and on mission trips. He taught himself to be fluent in Spanish years ago and now we have to watch movies with Spanish subtitles so he can continue to improve.
My step-father is a high achiever in every facet of his life. When I watch him run circles around most everyone else on the planet, I am amazed. Looking at the definitions I presented above, I have no doubt the catalyst for all he does is inspiration. Motivation comes from external factors. These can be extrinsic, such as rewards or social status, or intrinsic, such as our stubbornness to solve tough problems that we see as a challenge and push ourselves over our limits.
Inspiration, however, comes from within a person. Therefore, motivation is more closely connected to external stimuli, while inspiration is based on the internal stimuli. This is closely connected to the previous point. Since motivation is connected to external stimuli, the things that will evoke it are exactly those external stimuli, whereas that would be different for inspiration, since inspiration is only evoked when we resonate with an idea on our inner, personal level.
