It sounds so arrogant for me to say, but I came to this country about 25 years ago and I wanted to go to medical school. I wanted to transfer to a more expensive school, Fordham University. Of course, I lied and said I had. So I started a job as a bartender and got fired the same day. Luckily, the owner then gave me a job in the coat check. But I realized I loved it. I realized I wanted to run my own business, so I started saying, I want to be a hostess.
