Where to get hit by deathwing

It seem that every other day at 30min or so before 12 midnight that Deathwing would appear in Easter Plaguelands on Durotan server. Comment by Deathwing hits servers every hours varies and there's about 20 different zones he can hit. He can never hit the same zone twice in a row.

Comment by Possible to get without dieing, how? I took the flight point from Surwich, as I came into the area between The Blasted Lands and Netherguarde Keep I spotted Deathwing off to my right just blasting everything to peices.

I was cursing my bad luck and letting my guildies know how bad my luck was, as I flew along I realised our paths would cross.

Thats when I thought to myself, how wicked would it be if Deathwing killed me on my flight path at the same time thinking that it was impossible. Thats when I saw my health drop to around hp and was shocked when I saw my health fall to one and the achievement flash across my screen, I think I made one or two people in vent temporarily deaf when I explained what just happened.

Oh by the way I landed healthy at SW, with a grin from ear to ear lol. Goodluck to all who are hunting this achievement. As many others have said the only warning I received was an abrupt change in color of the sky from blue to red, and before I could figure out what was happening I was dead.

Since I was on a Shaman at the time I popped my ankh, turns out after the initial blast the flames cannot harm you in any way. Also this does not appear to be a feat of strength as others have said, I received 10 achievement points. A lot of work went into this 10 pointer and I must say the effects look very nice. Comment by Mondoblasto A screenshot of me. I just happened to be turned that way when I spotted him.

I've edited my guy out, as he had digitaly soiled himself. Comment by bomaya Was outside Light's Hope Chapel, not inside it just now when sky went red and Deathwing appeared. I chased him and ran through the lava but no ach. So I guess just being in the environs of LHC was enough to save me. Comment by iseedeadpeople at servertime After he hits an area there are big lava bursts that burn for a while but those will not do damage to you.

He is absolutely massive though and from a good distance appears to fill up a good portion of the sky. I did notice that he didn't kill any creatures hit by his breath though as there were carrion grubs still wandering around where his breath had just hit. Comment by TheEpicOne Everyone who didn't get killed should get an achievement when this achievement is unaviable :.

Comment by Got toasted this morning on Eonar U. I've given up on this puppy so I won't be updating this comment as often. Best of luck. Comment by Lygaof No need for crazy clicky jumpy macros, just let a mob beat your face. Comment by joshychrist just showed up in eastern plaguelands and i didnt die because i guess i wasnt close enough even though i was running through all of his fire. Comment by got mine pm server time in wetlands on lothar. I thought it would be a good spot from alot of people posting about success here.

I died, yay, but no achievement. From where I was standing, it looked like he started at about 35,50 and went directly south. I got hit at around 35,65 about yards north of the GY and about 50 yards east of the western edge of the zone.

His path continued directly south as far as I could see, so he probably torched the entire Tainted Forest area from North edge to South edge. Comment by antronoid 4 Long and agonising days of waiting in Arathi Highlands, Deathwing finally toasted my pala ass at server time.

Also for anyone who wants to wait at 44,66 he comes from the west of Arathi Highlands, if you want to watch him fly over. Comment by Just received this achievement at Was logged in at that spot for 8 hours afk and got it right about 6 PM server time.

Comment by Anyone been around when a major city got hit? I've been asking around and Flew from the northeast and headed down to Corin's Crossing. Comment by Mzbehavin just got the achivement on my alt at stonetalon mountains, the sky turns blood red as well so yu know he is there, you need to benear him to get the achivement..

Comment by Deevan Like many of the above, I camped at 44,65 in Arathi several times over the last few days.

Around 8AM server on US Emerald Dream I got up to get me a cup of joe, and while I was walking back to my laptop, my headphone speakers started popping. Comment by tjosborne For those camping Arathi be patient. I have camped there for several days at 44,65 and finally got fried at pm server time on Sen'jin.

Good luck everyone, hope you all get your bbq. Comment by SylvanElf Update to: Does anyone think this is going to go away immediately this tuesday on release day? Q: So does this mean he's going to strafe zones all through Cataclysm until the 4. Comment by SylvanElf Wow The sky turned red, and while standing at 44, 66 in Arathi, near Fozruk , Deathwing became target-able at approximately The event was over at approximately Comment by rhuna On aggramar we have started the channel deathwing and will be posting times and areas as he hits just to track an roundabout time when he shall hit next usually he does not strike the same place twice in a row but no telling where he will hit next.

He strikes on average every 5 hrs. Thanks Tordas for reporting. Speculations are that he will hit Western Plaguelands if there is a pattern to be followed. Both locations confirmed, and the last by me. Unfortunately, I was inside a building and ran out to simply be surrounded by flames and Deathwing ahead. No death, no achievement :. Comment by Kampfsnarf We didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the worlds been turning. No we didn't light it but tried to fight it.

Comment by Well, he's not very efficient then - he hasn't found me yet. Comment by Raivyn79 Finally got it! Midnight exactly server time on Hellscream. Arathi at 44, A guildie bit it in Blasted Lands at exactly 7PM server time So no, it's not a set 12, thankfully : Good luck! Comment by I was down in Tanaris, by the gnome questgiver at Land's End Beach when the sky got all red.

It stayed that way for a few minutes, and I furiously rode towards the Valley of the Watchers. Saw Deathwing, saw his fires, but I somehow cheated death. I'll kill him someday for this indignity. The whole screen went red and I was dead in less than five seconds. I tried to pan around to catch a look at him, but all I could see was the walls of fire around my corpse.

Kinda irritated that I didn't get a good SS of him, but mainly just happy that I can actually get back to playing now :D If you're planning on camping for this achievement, keep in mind that it really still comes down to luck.

On the beginning of what I thought to be my 6th straight day of camping, 5 in Arathi and missing it by 2 hours, he hit me not 20 minutes after logging in : This is an excellent place to stand if you want a good visual of him before he barbecues you.

Saw him fly down a good portion of the scar before the flames completely engulfed my screen. A lot of us are camping 44,66 Arathi Highlands. Comment by Like many others I camped at 44,66 in Arathi. Camped off and on the last 3 days. The screen turned a faded red and I was like WTF? Then I realized it was Deathwing! A couple seconds later I saw him coming straight at me! Took some screenshots but because he's coming directly at me they're not the best. All I could see was the flame breath and his wings.

As he got close and killed me all I could see was the fire. Comment by Just got nuked by Deathwing on my lvl 35 warlock while questing in South Barrens. Was on my way out of the zone to Dustwallow when the screen went all red, turned and ran back to the fork in the road right there Comment by Talk about irony Comment by xistove Sorry for being late to the party.

I was scorched shortly after the Shattering's patch, flying on a flight patch to the new Kargath area. Landed alive. Specifically, I was standing at , right next to that tree. I can also confirm that the Bloated Redgill for the new Fishing achievement can be caught in that lake albeit with a LOT of casts.

I went AFK sort of to get some sleep; Having spent over 80 hours camping this, I was in dire need of some rest. Although being a Priest initially worried me, I happen to be a Troll Grats to all of you who got it, and best of luck to those of you still chasing Death Comment by December 5, Arathia Highlands 44,66 confirmed.

A guild mate got burned around after of which I waited immediately following the entire time; I got burned at Six 6 hour difference.

Not saying that it's a definitive 6-hour CD, but that is how long my wife and I waited. Taggem Tortheldrin. Comment by Erethzium Camped from 2pm to pm every day except Tuesday last week. Went to the 'gators in Wetlands 25,36 and let one attack me, yep, he couldn't bring my life down much before it went back up. Buuuut, no more than an hour later, you-know-who shows up and nukes me.

One person said that an hour ago there were fifty! I guess sunday nights are camping time nights? I got hit by the fire in mid-flight, and I survived with 1 HP left. Yes, I am a bad enough dude to survive a direct hit by Deathwing. Comment by Wajjldkaat Can confirm that 5 hours timer worked for me.

Have been couting from a friends fact, when he got killed. Counted 5 hours until today and got the last time at pm. Just got killed in Arathi at the stone-giant 44,66 it's a really nice place to be!

Time was pm to be exact. Comment by LadyAithne Thanks for these Arathi coords, my friend. They absolutely worked, and as someone else posted, the CD seems to be 6 hours. Another poster squatted in Arathi Highlands 44, 66 six hours prior to my camp and subsequent achievement.

Good luck, all! Comment by Got the achievement on Bladefist server at server time in Arathi Highlands at Confirmed it is live and not waiting till the the release of Cata. Comment by Deathwing just hit.

Six players still camping at time of from both factions. A corpse run has never been so awesome. Make sure you're alive, because it happens QUICK unfortunately, our 4th member was dead due to pvp and didn't get the achieve. Literally, the gray, raining sky changed to blood red, and then we died FIVE seconds later. The entire landscape and sky goes red, then you die, lol. Epicly nub to the max!

We waited for a little over 6 hours collectively. Awesome achieve! For the Horde! Comment by has anyone from Bloodhoof seen him? I've been camped at Fozruk for almost 40 hours now, two days before that I saw him in EPL but no achievement.

I guess I'll just hope to be hit while leveling. Comment by xxfotogrrlxx Well I flagged myself for PvP just so ally would be "brave" and attack me, only to die to guards. Realm: Perenolde. Was epic! The area turned red and almost gave me a heart attack. I looked towards the east, saw him coming towards me, got a sweet screenshot.

On a side note, my guildie got rep per many factions. It was spam for him. I'm pretty much exalted with everyone except WSG rep.

But, I lost Bloodsail Buccaneer rep. I submitted the epic screenshot. I hope it gets posted! Comment by Darkspiel Okay so, still trying to get this I need to set a timer to stop myself from falling asleep. Comment by Logged in this morning with the specific goal of camping a spot until I had this achievement.

Read your post and headed to Arathi Maybe this will be a productive day after all. Comment by Tontel "You are now prepared! Comment by Darkted 7 days of camping arathi and no drakes, leaders of black dragonflight, causing carnage and putting everything in fire! I was in Eastern Plaguelands. Comment by orchelia To update my post: I finally got flamed by Deathwing. What a sweet fiery death.

Arathi Highlands on Fenris Server. Comment by Been waiting nearly 12 hours in Arathi for DW to come kill me. Makes me sad, when Im trying not to die in WoW, I usually do. But now that I want it to happen, I can't. C'est la vie. Comment by marmotgirl Arrrgh!

Sooo frustrating! On EU Vek'Nilash. Been camping the 44,66 in Arathi pretty constantly since last week. I went afk at about 4pm today, obviously got logged out due to inactivity, came back at about 8. Soooo frustrating to have missed the actual event after all that waiting! Some potentially useful info though - this must have occurred not long after 4pm, say between 4 and 5.

The day previous, I was told by a fellow camper that I'd missed the last pass by a few hours, placing it between 3 and 5pm. Comment by SylvanElf Updated In addition, players can now get this achievement by walking into the wake of Deathwing's fire after he has passed.

Comment by Vexikuri Just got mine. Zone turned red then boom, I was dead lol I looked up and saw a part of his wing and tail as he flew behind some trees. Things went red, then flames and death. Killed most of the pcs in the zone, and all the npcs I checked on in the little town I was in. It does NOT kill everyone or blanket everything.

Also, if you aren't in the fire when it appears, you don't get hurt. So this is an achievement you can only get by random chance, though the longer you are online, the better your odds. Comment by MarluxiaKyoshu Just for reference; you can get this by flying through a zone on a taxi. I was flying through Wetlands en route to Arathi on my Paladin and all of a sudden everything went dark and my health went down to 0. You do not get kicked off of the taxi! In fact, you don't actually die. My health remained at 0 for about 20 seconds and my Paladin was playing the dead animation I still have the achievement, but never died.

Comment by It is not correct that you merely have to be in the zone when he appears. I was in Uldum just now and the skies turned red and black and only a couple people in the zone said they got it, the rest of us got to run around frantically and then nerdrage after the fact. So: you have to be in the exact teeny tiny area in said zone that actually gets set afire. The entire zone does not get the fos. Thanks blizz. Comment by So I officially hate deathwing as of this achievement. I have since been killed 5 times by him in multiple zones and dodged him once.

I saw the sky turn red today so I mounted up and flew about feet into the air thinking I'd be safe. I was still killed instantly. Comment by Leven I just got this achievement in blasted lands - the other information up there is true. The sky turned red, I saw deathwing flying off in the distance. I flew over and landed in the flame already on the ground, got hit for about 60k health and got the achievement without dying. I hung around, and the flames stayed for five minutes after he put them down, so it should be a bit easier to get this achievement after the changes.

Comment by Questing in Uldum. Sky turned red i was like WTF. Comment by dew Around am in Twilight Highlands just north of Bloodgulch. He razed the whole forest there and me in the process. Protadin with k health and I managed to live through the first tick, even though I got the achievement and didn't die yet, stood in the fire just a bit longer just in case ;.

I was in the Basement of a house working on Wildhammer Tour of Duty and he nuked the whole zone. Comment by I just now got this achieve. I got the achievement and my hp dropped to 1 because i assume you cant die on a gryphon. The fire stayed burning for almost 5 whole minutes from what i could tell. Comment by alejbr4 on monday i was in blasted lands doing archaeology and the sky turned red and to the east was flames i flew over no deathwing but the flames were still there i landed in the flames dismounted and i never took any damage Comment by Darleese It doesn't seem to be a FoS anymore - and is worth 10 points.

If someone if your guild gets it in Uldum - there is a good chance if you port to Uldum asap you too will get the achievement as Deathwing scorches the city in which you portal to. You do have some time after Deathwing passes to jump into the fire on the ground to get the achievement. A number of guildies did it this way. Comment by idrith I got mine while I was on a Burning Steppes griffin flight path.

The sky suddenly turned red and I took the griffin. Deathwing's blast didn't kill me but left me to 1 hp instead, with a repair bill nonetheless. The oddest thing is that the zone he carpet-bombed was the Blackrock orcs' camp Comment by lizzurd I just got mine tonight in the Twilight Highlands.

He killed me while I was in a cave questing : I wanted to at least see him flying around! Lol, oh well. Probably won't be the last time I see him Comment by papertigers If you want this I recommend levelling Archaeology.

Yesterday I missed him as I was on the wrong side of the zone when he hit Uldum. Saw the sky go red, but didn't see any fire. He hit me today about 10 minutes ago when I was levelling Archaeology in Eastern Plaguelands, at Zul'mashar, though his fire went a lot further than just there. Comment by Nomade is that a limited time achievement?

Comment by Yzzami Today, in Uldum. The sky turned blood red. I tried to make sense of the strange occurance, but then I remembered it could only be one thing.

I glanced around for a moment and saw nothing. But I knew he was coming, I unsheathed my staff in preparation for conflict. And there in the distance, flying in fast and hot, there he was I put my efforts into transforming into a bird as fast as I could to intercept him. Comment by ninjaqtip okay my sky turned red when i was on the ground and i didn't die, i found fire and was standing in it and it did nothing, do you have to be targeted by him or have fire spawn on you to get it?

I've been playing cata since It came out and I wasn't ever burned until last night in the twilight highlands. Then i got burned again today. So I'd venture to say he like the Highlands a bit. Comment by Yatta I just got this achievement on my hunter. I don't know about you guys, but the combat log tickled me pink. Numbers aren't good enough for Deathwing!

Comment by Whittall So I was chillin' out in Uldum when Deathwing came, thought I was going to get the achievement, turns out I was stood in probably the only place that he doesn't set on fire in Uldum. I raged, Deathwing doesn't kill the whole area, just saying. Comment by Jath Just got this achievement about 5 minutes ago. Sky turned red and I just sat there like, "Well, this is new. I didn't care about anything. Then, right after that, I also got World Explorer. So two in one go.

I like it. Comment by Duskdagger I got killed in Stonetalon Mountains last night. Funny story, I was in Southern Barrens doing some Archaeolgy. Finish up there, and was going to go for a site in Mulgore, when my friend's Real ID broadcast that she got strafed by Deathwing for the second time. I check friend's list and she is in stonetalon. So, I book it for there and he caught me on the ridge coming from Southern barrens into stonetalon. Insta death, and blown off my flyer and down a cliff.

Flambeed blood elf, courtesy of Deathwing :D. Comment by I zoned into Uldum to help a guildie find The Vortex Pinnacle he's not the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer and low and behold, i port into Deathwing's path, insta-death, insta-chieve. Comment by Azgamergirl I was in Tanaris when he came in and burnt stuff up about halfway of the map north of me.

I did not die, it was not zone wide. I did not get the achievement right away either. After running after him stupidly i thought to just swoop down and stand int he fire. I did not get achievement either. I whined on general chat and someone told me to stand in the fire where they were. I thought it was a long shot, but sure enough, oddly, the fire where he stood did give me the achievement. I dont know of this is a bug or what. But in the end i got what i wanted.

Just wandering around questing when I got zapped. Didn't even realize what was going on until achievement popped up! What a pleasant surprise! Comment by NekoVictoria Camped for this for two days in Arathi at 44,66 and never got it. Finally gave up on it and leveled my archaeology. While leveling my archaeology I got this the very next day after i gave up on it right above Chiselgrip in Burning Steppes at about 1 am server time. Comment by 4am GT - was in Frostwhisper Gorge in Winterspring and suddently the bright surroundings turned red.

I flew about trying to find him and sadly found the remains of flames at Starfall Village towards north : At least now i realise how drastically the colour changes so i know for next time, the sky goes red and black in the middle and its just a matter of running round trying to find him - i suggest going to the middle asap because he usually incinerates up to there.

Found the same when he appeared in Eastern Plaguelands - one day i will get burned! Comment by In Twilight Highlands he hits Thundermar, specifically the 'northern' section of town From the tall house, over the blacksmith, and over to the questgivers' house.

I noticed the sky go red, though didnt recognize why thought someone was doing the Crucible Comment by Hey Guys, I just got this achievment.

It's not something that you can go after, instead it basically 'comes' to you. I was minding my own business in Eastern Plaguelands when the whole forest suddenly got really red even more red than usual. I thought the game was glitchy, since I have seen a few glitches earlier.

So I didn't mind it and kept on walking. First I thought another player killed me :' since I get that a lot but then I saw the achievment tab and the whole forest was on fire. Huge flames everywhere! Apparently, our nice friend Death Wing was on his random stroll through Azeroth and he just burns every land he flies over.

I had the buff -Fiona's Lucky Charm- at the time so, in hindsight, I'd like to think of myself as "lucky" to witness this. Maybe it's just denial and I really feel unlucky to die in Death Wing's flames :S. The only thing I got out of this experience, other than the achievment : , is a strong feeling for revenge. I am going to get Death Wing for this!

I will kill him when he least expects it just like he did it to me! So i stayed here for like 30 mins or longer, and then it happend sky turned red and deathwing appears, surprisingly this only took less then 20 seconds, then he was gone again and entire arathi was blazed.

Why did i had a feeling he would appear there? At that point it was a pure guess, but then it happend again 2 days ago, or well ye 1 day and few hours. Deathwing ablazed wetlands when i flew, however he was already gone when i arrived and the flames started to dissapear. At that point the day later today i had a feeling he was about to visit arathi highlands, and 30 mins later or so it all happend :.

Comment by are you new to wow? Comment by I take your a roleplayer? Comment by Dembai Helpful hint: Sometimes the fire coming from the ground will not kill you.

HOWEVER, there will be one or two flames that will kill you, so if you missed his strafing run by being too far away or in a building or cave, jump on your mount and go running through as many of the fire spots as you can.

Half my guild was hanging out in TH and missed Deathwing's attack while we were in CoC - I jumped on my mount because people were claiming they got the achieve by jumping in the flames - while most of the flames did not kill me I finally found one that worked and all my guildies jumped in. W e all got the achievement at the same time like suicidal lemmings. Comment by Yay! I got toasted this afternoon. I'd had what seemed to be a near miss in Arathi this morning, as I was inside the kobold cave near Hammerfall.

I heard a roar just as I killed a mob inside the cave, and it took me about two seconds to figure out I'd probably heard Deathwing. So I ran outside, just in time to see a bloody red sky fade to a pale blue. My brother got the achievement in Wetlands, but I play Horde so didn't even have any low-level stuff I could burn off while bumming around. Finally, I gave up and was flying to my next archaeology dig, when I took a short break next to Desolation Hold. I stepped away from the computer for a little bit, and when I came back, the sky was red.

Had I just missed it? Then a ginormous shadow swooped down from the north, blazing a way down the Battle Scar. Five seconds later I was a charred and smoking cinder. Death has never been so exciting. Comment by Nearly one day after getting this achievement in the Southern Barrens, I got torched a second time, ALSO in the Southern Barrens, just a few minutes shy of 25 hours later. I was on an archaeology run this time. I was pleased because I got screenshots without my UI in them this time.

Comment by regma I see the part about "If you're not in the zone already, you have virtually no chance of sacrificing yourself to his flame" Well when a guildy got it. I seen, via right clicking his name, that he was in Uldum. So I went over from the port in SW. As soon as I got there. I was cooked. So if timed right, and if possable, you can make it.

I was near Sw when he went up in flames. Comment by RoboNoob This is a video of my friend receiving this achievement in Gadgetzan.

It's odd since the fire only seems to plague the city, and nowhere around it. Comment by Just got this achievement unintentionally while hanging out in Blasted Lands. Like other posters have said, the sky gets all red and then Deathwing just owns you as he flies overhead.

And everything's on fire for about five minutes. Comment by On January 3rd am server time I was in gadgetzan doing loremaster achievement when suddenly, everything went red! Comment by I got this on my Druid in Winterspring had no idea what was happening until the achievement popped up. Had the screen go red in Uldum like he was going to attack on my Paladin but after a while screen went back to normal and I didn't get the acheivement.

Comment by I just got this 4th January Server time. I was heading to The Hinterlands, as i'm doing Archaeology and had 2 digsites there. I was wondering if Deathwing was going to BBQ ppl in Arathi Highlands, when a loud unusual roar came, and everything turned red.

I though "Yes Yes Yes! I turned around and flew towards him, and when i got closer, i dismounted and died, and then achievement popped up.

The Scourge winning and taking over the world is not the True Timeline — nor is it even his eventually-intended End Time — therefore as soon as he was able, he would stop it from coming to pass in the first place using time travel. The only force powerful enough to stop him would be himself.

Now, there are a few ways that Arthas could kill Deathwing. Another way would be to proactively enter the prisons of the Old Gods and exterminate them there, with no knowledge or regard for the health of the world-soul, which would then cut off the source of power that keeps Deathwing alive through impossible flesh wounds. And arguably the most anticlimactic of all, is for Arthas to not physically attack Deathwing at all, but instead invoke the Fury of Frostmourne to attack his soul directly, which may be able to kill him if the tiny undead human can survive against the giant volcano dragon long enough or if he gets his spellcasters to do it for him.

Some new ideas I also just had working off what was posted above in regards to advantages the Lich King would have and paths he could take for victory…. This would make Arthas and his most powerful minions even harder to destroy as well as give them greater access to the realm of souls.

Arthas could potentially take the later Sylvanas route and even subdue Eyir and take over the Halls of Valor, Odyn, and Helya to gain true mastery over death. It is also likely that Arthas would go into Ulduar and kill Yogg-Saron as well as purge it of all its constructs fairly quickly after, unearthing many secrets of the Titans as well as gaining more insight into the Old Gods and their natures as well as greater knowledge of the lands of Azeroth that were shrouded such as Pandaria.

Speaking of Pandaria, the Sha could be of particular use to the Scourge since in general they are emotionless but could be brought to bare against beings like Deathwing, and otherwise they could subdue the Pandaren, Mogu, and in particular the Mantid would make an excellent fighting force.

At this point the Zandalari would still be undergoing some fractures and it is possible that after seeing what the Scourge do to the Drakkari Zul would lead a civil war and side with the Lich King in a bid to take over Zandalar, offering up Nazmir and its knowledge of the Titans and Old Gods to Arthas as well. The main thing I think that would give the Scourge an advantage is they would have a year or more to conquer the world, something I think would be fairly easy given their overwhelming conventional power at that point.

Does the Scourge fix the World Pillar in Deepholme? Does the Scourge keep the various Deathwing allied forces from taking the Halls of Orgination and re orginating the planet?

Does the Scourge time travel into the past and retrieve the Demon Soul, the one thing that was even able to damage Deathwing? Deathwings allies would all be undead serving the lichking, we are talking about world where the lichking defeated both alliance and Horde. The Lich king has power liches, spell casters and can raise bronze dragon flight dragons.

With the Unlimited armies of the scourge sure he could. He could literally have enough frost wyrms and gargoyles to blot out the sun.

As I pointed out the lich king grows in power with the more souls that frostmourne devours.
